Discover the New Circuits of Machu Picchu

To enhance visitor experience and manage the flow of tourists, the Peruvian Government has introduced three new circuits for exploring the iconic Citadel of Machu Picchu.

Circuit 1

Panoramic circuit as it offers the classic postcard photo of Machu Picchu, which can be obtained from the terraces of the Guardian House sector. To get there you must ascend for 15 or 30 minutes through stone stairs. There you can see Inca terraces and the best view of the archaeological site

Circuit 2

Most complete circuit because, in addition to the classic photo from a point of view close to the Guardian’s House, it allows you to visit the most important Inca constructions, such as: the Temple of the Sun, the Main Temple, the Sacred Rock, the Temple of the 3 Windows, the Temple of the Condor and more.

Circuit 3

This circuit offers a beautiful photo of Machu Picchu from the lower part. It also allows you to tour the buildings in the lower part, such as the House of the Inca, the Temple of the Sun, the Sacred Rock, the Temple of the Condor, and the Water Fountains. You can also see Machu Picchu’s most popular mountains

Are there free spaces to visit Machupicchu?

First you have to be sure if there are spaces available in Machu Picchu.

Buy your tickets in advance and ensure your place in the Wonder of the World.

Why buy Machu Picchu tickets in advance?

  • Sunrise magic – Best views, fewer crowds
  • Skip lines – More time exploring
  • Huayna Picchu – Separate tickets needed

FAQ

The ideal time to explore Machu Picchu is the dry season (May–September), when sunny skies and warm temperatures create perfect hiking conditions. Keep in mind this is peak season – expect larger crowds and higher prices for hotels and tours.

While the main circuit takes around 3 hours, we recommend allocating at least half a day for your visit. This allows you to explore at a comfortable pace, soak in the majestic views, and truly connect with the spirit of this ancient wonder without feeling rushed.
